IntroductionThe purpose of this report is to summarize and analyze selected English literature related to a specific topic. The topic of this report is the impact of social media on adolescent mental health. Social media platforms have gained significant popularity among adolescents in recent years, and their influence on mental health outcomes has sparked concerns among researchers and parents alike. In this report, we will examine various studies and opinions on this topic to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of knowledge. Literature Review2.1 Study 1: The Association Between Social Media Use and DepressionOne study conducted by Smith et al. (2018) aimed to investigate the association between social media use and depression among adolescents. The study utilized a sample of 500 participants aged 13-18 and collected data through self-report questionnaires. Results showed a significant positive correlation between social media use and depressive symptoms.
